Bead Sequences
What’s Included: 14 page PDF that includes 18 different bead sequences (two sequences per page) to copy. There are six different bead sequences using 6 beads, six different bead sequences using 9 beads, and six different bead sequences using 12 beads. Additionally included are six, nine, and twelve blank bead sequences for you or your students/children to create your own patterns.
Why I use it: Prior to working on some of the bead or block designs, I assess whether a student can correctly sequence a visual pattern of beads (again I use pony beads from a dollar store). Bead sequences are not only great for developing foundational visual motor and perception skills, but they also improve bilateral coordination (using both sides of the upper body together in a coordinated manner) and bilateral coordination is HUGE in motor development. This digital download pairs well with the bead designs and block designs, too! I also love to use this activity with animal walks or a tunnel.
