Prewriting Strokes & Shapes Worksheets
What’s Included: 4 page PDF that includes the necessary prewriting strokes and shapes foundational to letter formation and development. Included in the table of contents is the approximate age in which a child should be able to perform the stroke or shape.
Why I use it: This is a great staple (do you see a theme here? Everything has a purpose on this website otherwise why put it on here!) to assess a student’s prewriting progress. Start by tracing the prewriting stroke or shape, then connect the dots to form it, and finally have the student attempt to copy the stroke or shape independently. Sometimes I even have them only copy the strokes or shapes, so feel free make it your own and use it how you need!
